Grand Opening for The Meeting Place on Main

Join us on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM for the Grand Opening of The Meeting Place on Main in Union, SC.

Our foundation has donated $37,000 to The Meeting Place on Main organized by Trinity Baptist Church and Channel Blessings in Union County. The Meeting Place will serve needs of the community through workforce training, job preparation, educational assistance, and young adult mentoring.

The location will also house Common Grounds, a coffee and sandwich shop, which will help sustain the cost of running the center. Our donation will go toward renovations and up fitting the building. Thank you to our sponsors who made this donation possible, Verizon Wireless and Cox Industries.

The Meeting Place will partner with local HR Managers where they will help train citizens on soft skills needed to land and keep a job. They will also do recruiting amongst the residents who use the center. The center will offer many things such as job preparation courses, assistance with building resumes and interviewing, a place where residents can shower, offer interview clothing for those who need it, residents will be able to list this as their mailing address if they don’t have a place to call home, and phones/computers/printing will be available for use. The center will also open the basement level up as a young mentoring center.
